About

Follow me — a longtime English teacher, fledgling writer, and novice farmer’s wife — as I learn to navigate this agricultural landscape. My husband, young daughter, and I live on a 200 acre grass-fed beef farm in Central Maine. While my husband grew up on this farm, this life is new to me — but I am learning to love it, this place, and all the critters who live here.  Honestly, I can’t wait to see what happens next!

THE FARM

Longmeadows Farm is a 200-acre federally recognized farmstead located in Central Maine. Most of the farm’s acreage is located within prime wetlands and farmlands. We have over 26 acres of pasture, much of which is intensively managed (not by me of course) through rotational grazing.

Longmeadows Farm -- our home and a local landmark -- thus the name of the blog.
